Best Cafe in SF by Rich S. at InsiderPages
I have been to a lot of cafes in San Francisco. Coffee to the People is my favorite. It is exactly what a cafe in San Francisco should be. It is inspirational (check out the bumper stickers and posters), a great meeting place, comfortable, free wireless access, cool skylight and books and games, laid back real people work there, and the coffee is the best.

Great Coffeehouse Feel
Coffee to the People really nails the coffeehouse environment. Bustling on the weekends and mornings, a littel quieter mid-week, this coffeehouse does real homage to the hey-days of the Haight-Ashbury without faking a hippy vibe for the tourists. The only cafe I've ever been to with a community action wall that gives information about local politics. They seem very committed to their ideals and the community, and, just as important, it is fun to be there.

Organic Coffee Heaven by Jane W. at InsiderPages
I love my neighborhood, Haight-Ashbury, but the whole time I lived here I pined for a really great coffeehouse. The neighborhood cries out for it. Then finally, one day, like a gift, Coffee to the People opened.

Coffee to the People is exactly what Haight-Ashbury should be about. It is a community-centric coffeehouse that cares about equality, civil rights, and the environment. They also care a lot about coffee, which you can tell when the nectar first hits your tastebuds (they also have a broad selection of very nice teas, and chai and even mate). All organic, all fair trade coffee, really delicious sandwiches, free wireless internet, comfortable furniture, an extensive progressive library, games, toys for the kids, and an extremely friendly group of baristas. A home away from home.

PROS: Great community center, delicious organic coffee, excellent service
CONS: Nope

Favorite coffeehouse by John D. at InsiderPages
This is my favorite coffeehouse. The family that opened this cafe obviously loves coffee and the coffeehouse lifestyle and has done everything they can to make the experience world class.

I would go there just for the coffee, which is organic, fair trade, and delicious. Then they started these great big sandwiches for the same price that the other places serve the regular. I would love to take a picture of one of these Coffee to the People sandwiches next to a sandwich for the same price around the corner - no contest. The pastries are good, and they even have a full selection of organic juices.

Add to that the facts that the baristas are very friendly, the music is eclectic and good, the decor is inspirational and warm, and even the bathroom is super clean, which is something like magic if you have ever been to Haight Street. They also have free wireless Internet plus a rental computer. Lots of seating and a big livingroom area with comfortable couches and chairs and lots of interesting books and games. Free open mic every Friday night. It is becoming the real heart of the community.

PROS: Great organic coffee, amazing sandwiches, free wifi, friendly staff
CONS: Wish they were open 24/7

Really good coffee
Excellent cafe with really good fair trade organic coffee and espresso. Very extensive tea menu. Ginormous sandwiches made with really good meat. They also have vegetarian and vegan sandwiches and pastries but i didnt try those - they looked good though. Good energy and nice service. Nice community place. Highly recommended.
